Practical Training for Visual Artists: This specially tailored and highly subsidised series of workshops and courses has been developed to give artists an invaluable grounding in a wide range of relevant areas, improving skills and increasing employability.

Introduction to Photographing your Work

Program:

The aim of this half day session is to provide you with an overview of the skills required to take images of Fine Art. The session also supplies you with all you need to know to enable you to get started taking images of your own art work.

Bring your camera. You can bring a laptop if you want to upload any images that have taken. In the session we will look at the following areas:

  • Photographic rules for taking images of 2-D & 3-D art work
  • What equipment to use
  • What is required for a good fine art print
  • Workflow

Trainer: Elaine Stapleton, Insight Photography
 

Insight Photography is a Liverpool based innovative award winning company founded by leading Social Entrepreneur Elaine Stapleton. Elaine’s highly acclaimed exhibitions are ground breaking in highlighting people, places and communities in Merseyside and Internationally. Her latest projects have been in Peru and Kilimanjaro and she is renowned for capturing the spirit, culture and people of a place. Working in partnership with Insight Photography means investment in the ongoing regeneration of Liverpool as profits are invested back in to social enterprise and regeneration projects such as Insight photography’s sister company Arts for Women


Who is it for?

All visual artists, from across the region.

Basic photography and computer skills are required as you will be encouraged to develop your skills by taking images of art work.

£15 - This workshop has been generously funded by Liverpool Vision, meaning we are able to offer places at highly subsidised rate.
